Updates October 2024

Much of the focus just now is on the glasshouses – maintenance, maintenance and more maintenance. Also Joanna is struggling with mealy bugs and having to cut back quite a few plants. On the plus side she has visited Logan Garden on the Rhinns of Galloway as part of a staff development programme. There was much to learn, but also some lovely pelargoniums to bring back. These pelargoniums are delicate but unusual and include Pelargonium sidoides and P. myrrhifolium var. coriandrifolium. Although I have no space for more photographs you can view some on Instagram @smbenno2003

Work on the Four Squares has continued and the paths are now accessible in part for wheelchairs.

The frosts of last week have seen off most of the salvias and fuchsias, but the autumn colours are looking lovely in the sunlight. However, we expect the high winds forecast for Sunday 12 October to blow many of the leaves away.
